11+ and 13+
At the end of Year 4 or beginning of Year 5, it is likely you will start to think seriously about the next stage of your child’s education: the transition to secondary school.
We understand that this can be a challenging period for children and parents alike. With competition for school places increasing each year, it can be difficult to know whether your child is on the right track for the schools you have in mind – and once they are, it’s tough keeping them on it consistently. Furthermore, keeping on top of admissions timelines for a range of schools – the open days, the registration deadlines, interviews – is an admin job in itself.
At Ripple Learning, our experienced tutors and team will work with you to alleviate these pressures, giving you a helping hand and peace of mind during this process.
We recommend starting weekly sessions at least one year prior to the exams. This will allow our tutors good time to strengthen the fundamental English and Maths skills that create a strong foundation, before focusing on past paper questions and exam technique. At this stage, tutors will really start to cultivate the independent critical thinking in your child that selective schools are searching for.
The Ripple team will be on hand to share useful habits and resources to help keep your child on track and reassured in their learning, so they are ready and motivated to show what they are capable of when exam season comes around.
If you would like to find out more, we’d love to chat about where your child is at and what your plans are at this stage, to see how we could help you.
