Jamie Sayer, Ripple Learning founder, Managing Director & Tutor

Jamie Sayer

Founder, Managing Director, Tutor.

Since 2016, Jamie has collected more than a thousand diverse hours of 1-to-1 tuition and teaching: from 11+ preparation and A-Level Maths to volunteering as an English teacher at a local charity.

From his previous role as Head of Client Services at a London-based tuition agency, he wanted to find a way to deliver inspiring tuition while making a positive social impact. From this, Ripple Learning came into being.

Jamie continues to tutor, as the learning process never stops – and also serves as a helpful reminder of his own aging process. However, he spends most of his time speaking with clients and tutors for too long, while managing the day-to-day operations.

He spends his free time playing the same chords on the guitar over and over, while wondering why he never improves.

Ami Rubens, Ripple Learning Operations Director & Charity Liaison

Ami Rubens

Operations Director & Charity Liaison

Ami brings extensive third-sector experience to Ripple, overseeing our charitable links in line with our mission.

Since 2016 she has been part of the management team for a London-based poverty charity, and throughout the pandemic has been providing support to a grant-making organisation administering financial aid to individuals within the Hospitality industry. Ami has significant experience of working with clients from low-income backgrounds, supporting them to improve their circumstances in the long-term – something she hopes that can continue on a large scale through Ripple and its partner charities.

For the last two years Ami has been completing a part-time distance Masters in Poverty and Inequality in International Development – as such, she has been building great insight into the online-learning process since before the pandemic made it fashionable.

Ami spends her spare time trying to recreate every recipe to ever feature on Saturday Kitchen. When she inevitably fails, she always has long walks and reading to fall back on.

The Ripple Tutors

Ripple Learning’s main asset isn’t a clever piece of technology, nor is it a swanky office. It’s our special team of tutors and teachers that makes Ripple Learning.

Our mission and values attract some inspiring, dedicated people; highly-qualified and experienced tutors and teachers (a few of whom you can see here) who strive to make a lasting impact on their students’ lives.

Ripple Learning places an emphasis on really getting to know each tutor from the start, in order to ensure the best possible match for each student we tutor.

For that reason, we interview each tutor with the goal of understanding what motivates them, how they share their knowledge and how they keep bettering themselves day in, day out.

There are a lot of highly qualified people out there, but we look above and beyond for those that have a ‘spark’, alongside the prized values of compassion and intellectual humility that only a lifelong learner can have.

By doing this, there’s no doubt in our minds that we can match your child with the best Ripple tutor for their educational needs. The safety of Ripple Learning students is paramount: all of our team and tutors possess an in-date Enhanced DBS Certificate.

If you’d like to find out more about the tutors we have available, we’re always happy to help. Feel free to get in touch to discuss your child’s needs, so that we can find the perfect tutor for you.

"The prized values of compassion and intellectual humility that only a lifelong learner can have".
